The third installment of the TAG Heuer Sailor of the Year is really special. Not only because of the caliber of the finalist, Patrizio Bertelli, interviewed by our Mino Taveri and Bacci Del Buono. When we think of Prada’s CEO, we immediately think of the America’s Cup, the six Luna Rossa challenges, the sleepless nights 20 years ago hoping to win the Old Pitcher.
But Patrizio Bertelli is not just Luna Rossa. It is much more. He is passionate about sailing and boats, as we all are. He started from the bottom, in the waters of his native Tuscany. He told us about his first steps as a sailor, as a bowman, his many boats, his love for designer Giulio Cesare Carcano. Then, of course, we talk about the Cup. Enjoy your viewing!
Until June 6 (when you will finally find out who the TAG Heu Sailor of the Year will be.er 2020) we will bring you home, day after day, the best stories and the great protagonists of Italian sailing. The stories of the ten finalists you chose, with more than 78,000 votes on the Sailor of the Year. And whom we will interview, one by one.
PATRIZIO BERTELLI, THE UNSEEN SIDE OF “MR. RED MOON”
The Sailor of the Year is organized by Giornale della Vela (a leading Italian sailing magazine since 1975) with naming partner TAG Heuer, a well-known Swiss precision watch brand, and in collaboration with B&G.
