SEE HOW HE PREPARED FOR THE ATLANTIC IN SUP

SUP (an acronym for Stand Up Paddle) is a discipline in which one stands on a board similar to surfing but with more volume to support the weight of the practitioner, using a special paddle for propulsion. The sport has experienced considerable growth in recent years worldwide. There are many practitioners in Italy as well. We assure you, it is great fun and a healthy and “green” way to explore stretches of coastline unreachable by boat. You can come and try it for free at the VELAFestival in Santa Margherita (May 4-7), or start practicing on your own by purchasing an “entry level” model.
FOUR SUP MODELS TO GET YOU STARTED

We start with an inflatable model: the Cascade sup from Aquaglide (the same manufacturer as the legendary Multisport 270). It inflates and deflates in a snap and folds into a backpack bag with which to carry it anywhere, on a boat, in a car or RV, and even as luggage on an airplane. Ideal for all ages it has a capacity of up to 115 kg load. Thanks to a very rigid drift fin system, it allows excellent course keeping while paddling. Priced at 490 euros, it includes carrying handle, bag and high-pressure pump with 25psi pressure gauge. The paddle (79 euros) can be purchased separately. YOU CAN PURCHASE IT HERE

Another inflatable SUP model is the one offered by Eurovinil, complete with inflator and light alloy paddle. This, too, is characterized by ease of transport since once deflated and stored in the backpack it takes up very little space. Price: 817.40 euros. YOU CAN PURCHASE IT HERE

This SUP from Jlong features bright, sunny colors and is made of durable, lightweight materials. Thanks to the bag included in the set, it is easy to use and transport. Equipped with a non-slip EVA cover, directional fins and repair kit, it has a loading capacity of 130 kg and weighs 15.4 kg. It costs 539 euros. YOU CAN PURCHASE IT HERE

This SUP is also manufactured by Jlong, and features an innovative design that gives it a sporty and dynamic look. This product is recommended for slightly more experienced riders. It is sold equipped with a non-slip EVA cover and elastic storage band, carrying backpack, inflation pump, extendable aluminum paddle and directional fin. The carrying capacity is 120 kg, and the price is 459 euros. YOU CAN PURCHASE IT HERE
