July 13-24 in Brittany (Atlantic France) is a big party for sailing enthusiasts.
AN OPPORTUNITY NOT TO BE MISSED
The opportunity not to be missed are the two major events held in Brest (July 13 to 19, www.brest2016.fr) and Douarnenez (July 19 to 24, www.tempsfete.com), both held every four years. Hundreds of boats of all sizes and shapes, music on the docks, vintage sailboats, regattas, events and good food, seafaring skill competitions, and sailing movie sessions. A unique show that this year in Douarnenez has an added attraction: the event is dedicated to the 18th century, the century of the Enlightenment and piracy. Why not take a low-cost flight to Paris (there are no direct flights to Brittany from Italy) and shoot off a weekend of vintage sailing?
