Sailing trials for the Wally 145 (44 meters) Kauris IV, which Persico Marine made for Marco Tronchetti Provera: to have reported it to us our collaborator Luigi Gallerani who, equipped with a photographic “cannon”, like the best paparazzi, sent us videos and photos and writes to us:
“From the Levante entrance of Genoa harbor, Foce area, I had a chance to “paparazzi” the Kauris IV, in what seemed to me to be her first sailing trials.

After motoring out, the crew mobilized to hoist the sails. Impressive to note the size of this mega-boat in relation to the sailor who, in order to reach the jib clew, was hoisted onto the halyard.

After hoisting the mainsail and making an edge, a little further from shore, another crew member climbed inside the boom. We do not know what he fixed, but in no time the mainsail was lowered and Kauris IV was back in port. Shortly thereafter she sailed again, and set course for the SE. I didn’t hear any communication on the VHF, and looking on VesselFinder I didn’t see it reported on AIS….”
