We have already told you howthe first edition of the TAG Heuer VELA Cup / Round the Lido Race in Venice was a success, with 70 boats (and 70 crews) of all kinds at the start.

Vela Cup Venice – Who are the winners

The valuable TAG Heuer Aquaracer chronograph, awarded to the overall winner of the first edition of the VELA Cup / Round The Lido, went to Iacopo Longo, owner of the Melges 24 Furia Buia. He and his crew had a perfect regatta, finishing fourth in real time and beating everyone in compensated.

Speaking of real time: El Moro Vita Mia, first across the finish line, received Speedy Carbonium antifouling and Adherpox primer as prizes from Veneziani Yachting area manager Rodolfo Auletta.

The Gentleman Yachting prize, reserved for the most elegant classic boat, was awarded to Duccio Corsini’s Sasa II, Class A shipyard Cozzani of 1934.

As for the Elan Cup, in the Cruising class (white sails) won theElan 410 So Beatiful by Stefano Traforini while in that Regatta the victory went to theElan 40 Ursette Three by Stefano Tosato: Both owners took home a nice pair of Elan skis delivered by Luigi Coretti of Adria Ship, an Italian Elan dealer.

Vela Cup Venice – Prizes to be drawn

Those familiar with the VELA Cup know: there are lots of raffle prizes up for grabs. The Garmin InReach two-way satellite communicator was won by Saverio Nardi (owner of the Grand Soleil 37 Adamas), while the lucky winner of the Leatherman multipurpose was Michele Novelli, owner of the X372 Kima. The SUP raffled off by Vetus was won by Fabio Gomiero (owner of the Sintesi 45 Furibonda), the Plastimo sailing gloves by Alessandro Dolfin (Elan 333 Micromega), and the Revolve roll-up sailor half offered by Seably was snapped up by Giuliano Pinzan, owner of the Archambault 40 Ahlam 3.

TAG Heuer VELA Cup – See you in Cala dei Sardi on August 27/28.

Now what? All that’ s left is to give us a date in Cala dei Sardi, Sardinia (Emerald Coast), where the VELA Cup Cala dei Sardi takes place on August 27 and 28. In this corner of paradise, the regatta route is breathtaking: departure from Porto Rotondo, exit from the Gulf of Cugnana, route to the Soffi Islands, circumnavigation of Mortorio, and arrival in front of Cala dei Sardi.
