Do all sailboats cost so much? False. Especially when it comes to the pleasure of boating, size, it has to be said, does not matter: you can have fun on huge boats like on the fivesecond-hand “jewels” we have scouted on Top Boat Market and show you in ascending order of price. They really do cost less than a car, in some cases a hatchback: w the used one!!! And it doesn’t have to be exclusively daysailers and small racing hulls, with some you can undertake long sailings as well!
FIVE JEWELS FROM 4 TO 28,000 EUROS
WINNING CAT – 4,000 EUROS AND YOU TAKE IT HOME “ALL-INCLUSIVE”
The first proposal is a Winning Cat produced by Centro Nautico Calasetta in 2005. At 6.50 meters long, she has two berths below deck, making her suitable for coastal and weekend sailing. But it is the price that is its real selling point: only 4,000 euros, for a boat in good condition, Catboat style (mainsail only, in the style of Patrick Phelipon’s Effraie), movable daggerboard and carbon mast and boom. By purchasing it, you will take home two battened mainsails (one in dacron and one in kevlar): the berth is paid until June 2017. The boat is located in Goro (Ferrara). DISCOVER MORE.
SPECTRE 20 – AN ELEGANT DAYSAILER AT 10,000 EUROS
Spending 10,000 euros, you could opt for an all-around daysailer, built by a shipwright in 2000 to a design by architect Cellini: an elegant wooden Spectre 20, 6 meters long and 2 meters wide. The boat, garaged annually from September 1 to July 31, is in perfect condition, complete with everything and the characteristic large central porthole that makes the forward compartment watertight and gives the small boat a certain elegance. It can be seen in Civitanova Marche (Macerata). DISCOVER MORE.
PORTOBELLO 28 – 15,000 EUROS AND OFF WE GO, RACING!
Do you want to have fun and run? A Judel/Vrolijk design created for match racing and later modified for mini-altura racing, this Portobello 28 (8.50 m x 2.50) was built by Manara Composites under vacuum with epoxy resin, unidirectional fiberglass and PVC and Nomex cores. Rudder and drift in are carbon, the mast in aluminum by the great sailor Ciccio Manzoli’s Velscaf. Sails are from 2014, deck equipment is top of the line. The price is 15,000 euros. DISCOVER MORE.
CBS HARMONY – “BLUE WATER” ANTE LITTERAM AT 16,000
Measuring 9.02 meters long and 2.95 meters wide, the CBS Harmony, a 1973 design by Aldo Renai, was born with the intention of becoming a true “mini-cruiser” with which to take on long family sailings for up to 4 people. Renai opted for the central cockpit solution, which allowed him to obtain a large aft owner’s cabin. The model from the now defunct Fiumicino shipyard was a great success and hundreds were sold. This one we offer is visible in Tuscany and costs 16,000 euros. DISCOVER MORE.
KEELER 28 – A JEWEL AT ONLY A THOUSAND EUROS A FOOT
We close our review with the more “expensive” Keeler 28 One Design, a splendid racer built by Gieffe Yachts, 8.28 meters long and 2.49 meters wide. The boat is on Lake Como, as fresh water is known to do much less damage to the hull than the sea: it is to be believed when advertisers say that the boat is in excellent condition, not least because the optimization of the living work dates back to 2014 (the boat is from 2008). A boat for racing, with canting keel and carbon canard, complete with sails and equipment. This lake jewel sells for 28,000 euros. DISCOVER MORE.

X-Yachts owners, unite: there’s a regatta just for you (even Classic!).
In 1979 a shipyard was born that was destined to carve its name in the history of yachting: it was X-Yachts, of which the legendary X-79 became the standard-bearer. An excellent first design, signed Jeppesen, the small 7.9-meter would be
