Destined to take over the heavy legacy left by the X-99 as the Danish shipyard’s internationally distributed one-design, the X-35 One Design represents an excellent example of a racer cruiser. True to his choice not to follow the strictures imposed by the various racing regulations, Niels Jeppesen designed for this 10 1/2-meter boat a hull that is extremely balanced, proportionate and capable of good performance in all wind conditions. Another aspect that is not secondary is the elegance that has been achieved through good overall proportion and exceptional purity of lines.

A rather narrow, streamlined hull (with a contained and slightly set back maximum beam) and extremely fine bow sections combined with reduced flaring of the broadside give the hull a current and aggressive look.

COVER

Optimized for racing between buoys, the deck layout has all maneuvers positioned to be intuitive and easy to use. The halyards are all deferred in the cockpit, and the mainsheet, rigged German style disappears under the deck at the level of the mainsails to spill out near the two aft winches that serve it. The walkways are 45 cm wide and free of encumbrances make it easy to pass to the bow.

INTERIOR

Below deck, the rooms are affected by the sporty setting of the boat where priority is given to practicality and weight symmetry. Thus we find long treads, useful for spreading the sails, and the almost total absence of doors except for those in the bathroom and forward cabin. The two aft cabins have no partitions with the saloon and have a good-sized bed.
