Five used boats from 6.70 to 9.70 m

RS21 – 6.67 m – The ultimate “sports car”

The first of the used boats we are proposing-is not a used boat. We are talking about an RS21 One Design (6.67 x 2.20 m) from 2020 still packed and brand new, visible in Rezzato (Brescia). A fun boat equipped with a lifting keel, complete with retractable electric motor, North Sails Mylar mainsail, carbon mast. Today in Italy, the RS 21 class enjoys great vitality with a full calendar of events and regattas.

Let’s list some of its clever solutions: the rudder tiller is short and low to allow the helmsman to override it on a gybe; The aft locker hatch creates a support surface for the helmsman in carrying gaits. Its height improves the volume of the interior space; lhe single suspension is centrally located so that the entire armed boat can be lifted quickly and safely. The recessed bow hatch allows the bowsprit to fully retract. It is embedded in the deck and allows water drainage on both sides.

And again: daving along the bowsprit, to increase the gennaker’s exposure to the wind and to get more space between the clew and the forestay of the jib to make it easier to pass the gennaker on a gybe. The candlesticks are removable. A solution that allows boats to be stacked for transport if necessary: as many as six hulls tucked inside each other can fit in a container! Great idea to reduce possible transportation costs in view of regattas.

Another tidbit: the mainsail circuit ends with a double turret to allow the adjustment of the mainsail for both the helmsman and the crew. A real convenience in, for example, strong winds or when there is a need to quickly caulk the mainsail at buoy turns.

Finally, the keel has a wide profile to improve lift at low speeds, and is equipped with a seaweed cutter that can be operated from the cockpit.

The boat is being sold at an attractive base auction price.

H22 – 6.70 m – Fun for regattas and high-adrenaline outings

The second of the used boats on our market, also a one design, is the quintessential “laghée” boat that has bewitched so many top sailors (such as Torben Grael). It is an H22 (6.70 x 2.50 m): the 22-foot “sportswoman” designed by Rob Humphreys (involved in the 2002/2003 British America’s Cup campaign) and optimized, both in construction and in the lay-out of the deck and sail plan, by Roberto Spata’s New Wind (another great sailor, winner of 18 Italian championships, 6 European championships and 5 world championships).

used boats h22

With its retractable keel and low weight of 770 kg, the H22 can be transported by almost any type of car, on a single-axle truck and only 1.50 m above the ground.

Thanks to the generous ballast, which increases its righting, and the well-designed deck plan, with the H22 you can easily sail in 2 people and race in 3 and no crew weight constraints are imposed. The large cockpit means that the boat is approved for five: not only racing, then, but also fun outings gliding with friends!

Another detail not to be underestimated: two people can arm an H22 in just 20 minutes. Thanks to the collapsible mast foot, you can rig the mast even without a crane, hoist it, attach the forestay, backstay and shrouds, fit the boom and vang, and you are ready to hoist the sails and head out to sea.

The model for sale, at an attractive price, is from 2006 and has always been at the top of the charts in regattas. It has one set of training sails and one set of racing sails, is powered by a 2.3-horsepower Honda outboard, and is sold with cart with saddles and cover sheet as new.

Este 24 – 7.50 m – The One Design by Frers

We continue with another great classic from the One Design world. The third of the boats used in the review is an Este 24 (7.5 x 2.5 m). Composite construction, search for the best water lines, outside any tonnage restrictions, the signature of German Frers, an Italian shipyard (Cantieri Navali d’Este).

used boats este 24

This is the profile of a boat that immediately experienced considerable success and of which a class association was born. Main characteristic is the large battened mainsail and the absence of the flywheels on the 7/8-armed mast. On the bowsprit a gennaker of 58 sq m. Below deck, in two separate rooms, four bunks and a toilet. For full-blown cruises.

Extreme ease of maneuvering in all wind and sea conditions allows the Este 24 to sail even in very little wind, making the engine virtually unnecessary. Easy handling and maneuvering at sea is matched by equally easy management of the boat on land. The drift is bayonet retractable, and the Este 24’s carriability is ensured by a dolly that can be towed by a medium-sized car.

The one-design Este 24 class was officially established in 1996, and the social activity offers owners numerous opportunities, to learn, race and perfect themselves.

The model we propose, visible in Trieste, is from 2004. The attractive price includes not only the accessorized boat, but also a 2-axle AB road trailer and drift lift crane.

Alpa 8.25 – 8.25 m – Fiberglass Pioneer

Now, for the fourth of the boats used in the review, we leave the One Design world behind and step back in time. To 1967, to be precise. In the early days of fiberglass. When it saw the light of day theAlpa 8.25 (8.25 x 2.60 m).

used boats alpa 8.25

This sloop was designed and built according to the most advanced nautical concepts of the time. The result was a hull particularly suited for competitions where, in Class VI IOR in particular, the boat found its classification. But it soon became a “cult” family cruiser, with its four interior berths (one double cabin in the bow, the other two bunks in the saloon, port side).

Nothing to complain about the lines of the boat built by the legendary Offanengo (Cremona) shipyard: fine, sleek bow, teak cockpit protected by a special oval paramare, low deckhouse, narrow beam.

The model we offer, which can be seen in Fano, is from 1971. Ready to sail, it has a 15-horsepower Nanni engine and is sold at a more than affordable price.

Jeanneau Attalia – 9.70 m – A true bestseller (still comfortable today)

We close our list of used boats with a Jeanneau Attalia (9.70 m x 3.20 m).

About 900 examples produced from 1983 to 1988, Attalia was the successor to another highly successful Jeanneau boat, the Rush. Aggravated and with a high-performance hull (Joubert Nivelt design) it is at home in all sea and wind conditions. Lots of space above deck, thanks in part to the fairly short deckhouse.

Below deck, thanks to the two front portholes, the square is bright with a nice view of the outside. Chart table, L-shaped kitchen, large living room with all-around visibility, toilet compartment. The best-selling version had two nice cabins with double bunks and a convertible dinette. Well constructed, indeed.

The model for sale on our marketplace, visible in Fiumicino, is from 1984. Motorized Nanni (2008), it has undergone various refits over the years. Sartie and mast were redone in 2015, plumbing was renewed in 2021 with bronze sea intakes.
