Five used boats from 9.99 to 17.07 m
Under the sign of Vallicelli
The first of the used boats we propose is a great classic. One Canados 33 (9.99 x 3.20 m). One of the boats from Andrea Vallicelli’s golden age, when his boats designed according to IOR racing rules, battled (and beat) those of the world’s best designers. Characteristic stern design, beautiful lines. The Canados 33 was at its best in medium-light wind, upwind. Long cockpit with deferred rigging and tiller steering above deck. The interior featured a square with low and high berths at the broadside, and a forward cabin with V-shaped berths.
The model we offer is from 1978 (and being 9.99 m long, it does not have to be registered) and can be seen in eastern Liguria. Powered by a Lombardini 27-horsepower, it is equipped with a very rich fleet of sails and every accessory for comfortable cruising. Price to die for.

A great classic from the late 1980s
We go up a bit in size with the second of the used boats we offer, but we do not change the designer, who still remains Vallicelli. We are talking about a 1989 Comet 420 ST (12.63 x 3.90 m). ST stands for “Sport Team,” which is the slightly more “race” version than the CL (Class Line, geared more toward cruising). Many examples were produced between 1987 and 1992, peaking in 1989-90. The hull line is traditional, featuring forward and aft slants with midships beam (IOR style), and the classic blue band on the deckhouse.
But beware: although it is ST, the model we are telling you about is perfect for your vacation. The boat for sale in Fiumicino is in the three-cabin, two-bathroom version: teak interior, 43 hp volvo engine, max propeller, mainsail furler and jib furler, storm jib on forestay, full electronics. In excellent overall condition, it is offered at an attractive price.

The First (cruising) according to Briand
The third of the boats used in today’s review is of more recent design than the models seen so far. It is a Beneteau First 50 (14.99 x 4.42 m), a 2007 design by Philippe Briand that was intended to represent a clean break with the past.
On the occasion of the presentation of this boat Briand was keen to point out that for the First 50 he was not inspired by any tonnage regulations, seeking instead to obtain the highest possible speed from a hull intended for cruising. And in fact there is very little of the canons of tonnage standards adopted in racing.
The sides are rather flared, designed to limit the width at the waterline and consequently the wetted surface, so as to ensure an agile step in light winds. A feature that streamlines the aesthetics and hides the considerable development of free edges.
But it is also the maximum beam, among the narrowest and rearmost in the category, that makes the lines particularly aggressive, enhanced by wafer-thin entrances that culminate in a barely sloping foredeck that is completely out of the water in its connection with the hull. In contrast, the stern is flat and wide, albeit with a less imposing mirror than previous models.
The model we offer is from 2010 and can be seen in Marina degli Aregai, Liguria. Perfectly maintained, has new Bank Sails Race + Code + gennaker sails, new B&G electronics, new Bimini, Awnings and Lazy Bag, gray hull with teak deck.

The boat of a thousand surprises
We continue with the fourth of the used boats staying on the same size. The fourth model for sale is a Dufour 500 GL (15.10 x 4.80 m), a design by Umberto Felci in production from 2011 to 2015, with about a hundred hulls launched.
Here Felci has taken the dictates of the French cruising line to the max: ease of maneuvering on lines that are not weighed down by it, however. All with a hull characterized by the presence of an edge from midship to the stern. A galley cabinet is concealed in the cockpit, while the one inside is moved toward the bow, as on large yachts. It has a displacement of about 14200 kg.
All the canons of the Grand Large range are respected and, indeed, appear enhanced on a larger model such as this. Let’s start with the transom, which drops down to create a large, almost “powerboat-like” aft platform. A double wheel was chosen for easy passage, and the helmsman has the winches at hand to maneuver smoothly. In this way, guests enjoy the cockpit without moving a finger. The shipyard opted for large windows on the deckhouse (including a transverse one at the mast foot).
Among the surprises, a kitchen cabinet is “hidden” in the cockpit. As soon as we go below deck, we are used to finding the galley to starboard or port, linear or L. But not here! has been moved toward the bow and divided into two areas that leave a central passageway open. A choice that allowed the shipyard to achieve an interesting and un-sacrificed charting area and a remarkable dinette, with a table with split tops served by two sofas, to which a third linear one is added. Light is provided by glazing recessed into the deckhouse.
The model we offer can be seen in East Liguria and is from 2015, with current leases that can be taken over. In perfect condition, it is hyper equipped.

A seaside villa equipped with every comfort
We close our review of used boats with the largest one. Most importantly, two hulls. Since the “cat craze” has exploded in recent years because it allows you to cruise on a real seaside villa, this Lagoon 560 (17.07 x 9.44 m) may be the boat you are looking for.
Signed by VPLP and Nauta as far as the interior is concerned, it focuses heavily on elegance and comfort. Just discover the fly bridge, a real second bridge all to experience. Inside, the spaces are functional and, as with all “big” Lagoons, the 560 is available in four- or five-cabin versions.
Keep in mind that this boat (in its 5-cabin, 5-bathroom version), despite being from 2012, is in like-new condition and can also be a great option for chartering (which it has never done before). It has, among other things, Electric Winches, Full Electronics, Watermaker, Generator, Inverter, Heating/Conditioning, Full Cushions. It is visible in Liguria.
