When it comes to Grand Soleil or Swan, enthusiasts are divided between those who consider the historic Finnish brand unmatched and those who think that Cantiere del Pardo, especially in a certain period, was the Italian way to the world of top-quality cruising boats. German Frers in a sense has brought these two worlds together with his designs. Regardless of how you feel about it, on our classifieds market fans of both brands will find “bread for their” teeth, with two truly iconic models.
GRAND SOLEIL 45 BY GERMAN FRERS
A super classic, 13.50 m long and 4.1 m wide, from the late 1980s, signed by the legendary Argentine designer who designed timeless boats for both Swan and Grand Soleil. The boat was a success and in fact remained in production until 1997 with as many as 55 hulls built. It is therefore not uncommon to find on the used market. A boat that also sails very well, especially the deep draft version with a three-rank spreader mast.

SWAN 46
It is no accident that we put these two boats together; in fact, the Swan 46 was designed, also, by German Frers. This design dates back to 1983, at the height of Swan’s rise to the world of luxury cruising, and sport, boats. Double cockpit, one at the extreme stern and the other, small, central cockpit close to the drum. A boat whose lines marked an era, which sails well under sail and perfect for cruising around the world without any limits.
