Five used boats from 9.50 to 11.99 m

Alpa 9.50 – 9.50 m

We open the review of used boats with a model for true aficionados. An Alpa 9.50 (9.50 x 2.95 m). A real “youngtimer” gem that is the object of desire of many enthusiasts.

Danilo Cattadori founded the Alpa shipyard in 1956 in Fiesco-Offanengo, near Cremona. It was through his resourcefulness that Europe first experienced the application of fiberglass in the nautical field. Cattadori was able to work with the best designers of the time. From Van De Stadt to Olin Stephens to John Illingworth.

Names that in the international sailing scene certainly need no introduction. What is striking about Cattadori’s history, however, are the numbers: 22,000 boats produced, a shipyard capable of completing a tank-tested boat every three days as far as the Alpa 9.50 line is concerned, in production since 1969.

The model we propose is from 1976 and is looking for a new owner. The hull was done in October 2021 and has a set of new sails (battened mainsail and jib) and a nice set of used sails. The helm is wheel steering, and the cockpit and deck are teak.

Used boats – Centurion 32 – 9,70 m

The second of the used boats for sale in our marketplace is another great classic, straight from the French boatyard Wauquiez. We are talking about a Centurion 32 (9.70 x 2.96 m) that, designed by Holman & Pye, was built in more than 400 examples from 1968 to 1977.

The boat is a true “youngtimer”: thanks to its streamlined lines that make it elegant and timeless. Obviously, the narrow hull, a mirror of the times, means that, compared to today’s boats, there is less space below deck, just as “more difficult” is the conducting at the portals. But upwind, the boat will know how to give you great satisfaction.

Below deck, however, there are 6 berths, and for family cruising the boat-at ease even in challenging conditions-is perfect.

The model we offer, which can be seen at the Port of Neptune, Lazio, is equipped with every convenience and is ready to sail. It is powered by Mitsubishi 25 hp.

Used boats – Beneteau Oceanis 35.1 – 10.45

The third of the boats used under the lens is of the latest generation. We are talking about a 2016 Oceanis 35.1 (10.45 x 3.72 m), used very little (only 380 hours at sea) and in condition that is in fact like new.

Externally, the deck plan has been revised from the previous 35′ model, with a bridle on the roof that gives the boat a sleeker silhouette, but retains all the features of the cockpit that is completely free from maneuvering when sailing.

Sharp-edged hull for this cruiser equipped with a rollbar signed by Finot Conq: a solution valued for comfort and balance when sailing with state-of-the-art solutions such as the double rudder and the mast moved aft. The Oceanis 35.1, with interiors by Nauta, has really big spaces below deck with two aft double berths and one forward.

The boat, which can be seen in Caorle, is in its mobile drift version with 3 cabins.

Used boats – Comet 10.50 – 10.50 m

We continue the review with the fourth of the used boats for sale in our marketplace. A Comet 10.50 (10.50 x 3.35 m), a great classic of Italian cruising, designed for by Finot Studio. It is a hull that has contributed to the fame of the Comar shipyard in Fiumicino. It was built starting in 1983 and combines sleek lines, a decidedly guessable hull, and decent sailing qualities (58.7 sq. m. upwind sail area for a total displacement of 5 tons).

The cockpit is well equipped, with deferred maneuvers. Below deck finds space for an XXL square (for the time!) with the galley located to port, chart table to starboard. There are two double cabins, one in the stern (with a large peacock beside it) and one in the bow, as well as a toilet. A

The model we propose, which can be seen in Eastern Liguria, is from 1985 and is ready to sail. Some of the “features”: 2010 Bukh 24 Hp engine, 2019 rigging, autopilot, windlass.

Dufour 390 GL – 11.99 m

We close our review of used boats with a Dufour 390 GL (11.99 x 3.99 m).

Here’s what we had written when we tested the boat in 2018: “The hull of the 390 is part of a completely new generation of hulls designed by the Felci studio for the French house. The interior volumes are increased due to the pronounced width, the flat hull provides a remarkable stability of form thanks also to the aft volumes characterized by a pronounced edge that gradually softens toward the bow.

Under sail the sensations are the same as on the 430, great maneuverability, a sail plan truly suitable for everyone that allows even the mistakes of the less experienced, an organization of maneuvers designed for sailing with the family.” Among its strengths are the immense cockpit equipped with a stern platform to make a superyacht envious and the interior spaces with three possible layouts of two or three cabins and two bathrooms.

The model for sale, inversion three cabins and two bathrooms, can be seen in eastern Liguria and is from 2020, in virtually like-new condition. Ongoing lease with possibility of takeover.
