The Le Locle-based company designed the Diver Blue Shark to withstand depths of up to 300 meters.
On the caseback is an engraving depicting the anchor, the symbol of Ulysse Nardin, or alternatively, the silhouette of the blue shark. The House of Le Locle has a long tradition in the world of the sea and boating. A bond that is being strengthened in light of the feat accomplished this year by Dan Lenard, who rose to headlines for completing a unique feat: a solo Atlantic crossing aboard a 33-foot sailboat without the aid of an engine or any electronic instrumentation. The only companion was the Diver Chronometer Great White. Purpose of the mission? To bring attention back to the state of health of the oceans today increasingly compromised by pollution and where the weather factor plays a key role.
