PORTS DOSSIER 2017 – While new marinas are springing up that will increase the number of berths available along Italy’s coasts from 161,000 to 180,000 in the next few years, we tell you, day by day, what some of the most virtuous marinas have to offer.
Sardinia
Sardinian Cove
Marina Cala dei Sardi is located in the Gulf of Cugnana between Porto Rotondo and Portisco, in the middle of the Costa Smeralda, one of the most prestigious regions of our country. This facility offers 140 berths for boats ranging from 6 to 70 meters (max. 6.8 meters draft). The ground part is taken care of in every detail. Toilets and showers are available, as well as the bar and a restaurant offering typical and seafood specialty dishes. Other services offered by the marina include a shuttle that connects the port with the supermarket and restaurants in the area in addition to all the “standard” services: electricity, water, weather service, and parking. Campania
Marina Arechi
Marina d’Arechi, the marina of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast is the ideal place for a boating vacation between Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Procida, Ischia, Acciaroli, the Aeolian Islands to the south and the Ponzi Islands to the north. Easily accessible by land are the sites of Pompeii and Paestum. With 1,000 berths from 10 to 100 meters (7 meters maximum draft), it is one of the largest marinas in the Mediterranean. Each berth is equipped with the most modern energy, water, sanitary supply systems. Tel. 089 2788801, www.marinadarechi.com
Liguria
Marina of Varazze
With its 800 berths for boats up to 35 meters in length (with depths ranging from 3 to 6 meters), the Marina di Varazze is a modernly designed harbor, which, while it fits well into the city context, is a true “village within a village,” thanks to the presence of businesses, bars, restaurants, and apartments. Wi-fi coverage and web cam service is provided throughout the port, and there is a 24-hour surveillance service. Tel. 019 935321, www.marinadivarazze.it
