Bee_lightsWe have talked a lot about it this past year, about the Lighthouses Project wanted by the Agenzia del Demanio, under which eleven lighthouses located in unique positions along the Italian coasts entered a call for bids that allows private parties to obtain them in concession for fifty years. So now that the proposals have been sent out and we are waiting for decisions, don’t waste time.

This summer make a stop at one of the eleven places we point out in the infographic below. Because the fear that once assigned to private individuals and perhaps turned into very expensive hotel facilities, these lighthouses will become unaffordable for most Italians is there, needless to hide it.

Enjoy then in this approaching summer 2016 a different itinerary, rediscovering an important piece of seafaring history, almost a cruise chasing a kind of “modern archaeology.” An example? Look at the Red Capel Lighthouse…
