Heroic doctors used it during the acute phase of the Coronavirus outbreak to defend themselves from infection and patients in intensive care. Easybreath is the diving mask that has saved lives. And which you can now use on a cruise.
A BRESCIAN DOCTOR’S BRILLIANT IDEA.
To address the lack of personal protective equipment in hospitals in one of the hardest-hit areas in the Brescia area, a former head physician at Gardone Val Trompia Hospital, Renato Favero, came the idea of repurposing Decathlon’s Easybreath snorkel masks with integrated breathing apparatus into emergency breathing masks.
So he turned to the Brescia-based 3D printing company Isinnova, which designed and 3D printed the connecting fittings between the Easybreath and standard hospital tubing after Decathlon, which had thousands in stock, provided CAD drawings of the product without delay. Thus was born Easy Covid 19, which has saved so many lives. A beautiful Italian story.
THE SECRETS OF EASYBREATH
And now, this mask that has become a symbol of the Italian spirit of adaptation is back to what it is: a “must have” item for your cruise: it offers a 180-degree field of view and eliminates the problem of fogging thanks to a dual airflow system. To ensure that water does not enter the mouthpiece, Easybreath is equipped with a mechanism that closes the top of the integrated mouthpiece (designed so that it is clearly visible in the water, benefiting personal safety) during diving. Prices start at 14.99 euros HERE
