The Sun Loft 47 is one of the most highly anticipated boats of 2019 for the charter and cruising world in general, and here Jeanneau’s newest addition, design Briand, is finally shown in photos. It has been referred to as a “monocat” or “monohull,” because on a single hull it has the ambition to encapsulate the solutions for comfort and space typical of cruising catamarans, while also adding some revolutionary new features.

The possibility of configuring the cockpit in different ways thanks to the large superstructure clearly visible in the photo: from totally open to totally closed, passing through an intermediate solution, a “chameleon” boat then that changes its appearance depending on weather conditions and needs. The other novelty is that there is no dinette inside, but space has been maximized to get as many berths as possible, as many as 6 bunks with 5 bathrooms, two of them accessible directly from the cabins, with the possibility of accommodating up to 12 people on board (+ 1 skipper).

The real dinette is outside, as the cockpit has the ability to be fully enclosed, and the large cockpit also features the kitchen and barbeque. The sail plan will be one of simplicity, with a self-tacking jib and the mainsail with a boom that does not get in the way in the cockpit at all since the sheet point is deferred on the hard top.

A boat of large spaces, with great interior volume availability and a high number of berths thanks also to a pronounced maximum width. “The Sun Loft 47 is an original sailboat concept designed to offer comfort, considerable living space and ease of handling to a younger, more urban clientele ready to enjoy a boating vacation at a reasonable price,” comments Loic Bonnet, executive director of Dream Yacht Charter, one of the companies betting heavily on the new Jeanneau project.

The Jeanneau Marketing team developed the Sun Loft 47 with a specific goal in mind. This monohull, which marries some concepts related to comfort and space typical of catamarans, is designed for cruise passengers and to be offered to charter companies and tour operators. Yacht Week, MedSailors, G Adventures and Dream Yacht Charters are already among the first to put their trust in the brand.
