When J Boats prepares to launch a new boat there is a need to prick up the antennae and watch carefully what happens, because the American boatyard’s boats very often leave their mark.
The new addition, although it is only on paper for the time being, is called J/9 and will be a daysailer that meets the growing demand for these boats in the American market, but not only there.
“With the J/9, we set out to imagine how to make boating easier, more relaxing and more inclusive,” said Jeff Johnstone of J/Boats. “This is a boat on which you can sail alone easily, or take a crew with you with plenty of room to spare.”
The cockpit of the J/9 can comfortably accommodate 4 people sitting comfortably. With friends and family on board, everyone can find the perfect place to relax. And boarding has never been easier. A bathing platform at the far stern makes it easy to climb aboard, even if we are carrying sail bags, and of course to take a nice summer swim.
According to the shipyard, speaking of performance, the boat will be able to sail fast, if necessary, even with only the mainsail. This is because sometimes in solo sailing, the less experienced sailor can begin to become familiar with the boat by sailing with just the mainsail. Obviously with mainsail and jib, the J/9 aims to emulate typical J performance.
The price in euros should be, in the basic version and excluding VAT, just under 90 thousand euros.
