The roaring 1980s were running, Italian sailing was discovering the America’s Cup, and Il Giornale della Vela was launching Il Giornale della Coppa. We used to fax it, to all subscribers, right after the regattas that were held in Newport or Fremantle in those years, and then again in San Diego in 1992. It seems like a century ago, but the Cup Newspaper is back and ready to launch for the Prada Cup semifinals a huge innovation. So many of you have asked us, so we are ready to please you: starting from the Prada cup semifinals between Luna Rossa and American Magic, a killer challenge that will send one of the two crews home, The Cup Newspaper will go to the live, in the true sense of the word, of night and simultaneously with the regattas, as always on our Youtube channels, Facebook, and on the Milan Yachting Week website. Our own Bacci Del Buono and Mauro Giuffrè, with a panel of special guests, will comment live on the races and can be your commentator.
We will not be able to show live coverage of the regatta, but with some simple instructions that we will communicate to you shortly, you can coordinate our reporting and commentary with the images you are watching-it will be a breeze. And of course there will also be room for you readers to follow us in this “madness” , with your questions that will be answered directly by our experts. However, the episode will remain recorded on our channels and you will be able to watch it again, in the same manner, on a delayed basis.
The appointment is then for January 29, at 2:30 a.m., on our facebook page, youtube channel and in the events area of Milano Yachting Week. What about the guests? Mino Taveri, Gabriele Bruni, Maelle Frascari, Claudia Rossi, Giulio Desiderato, Giovanni Ceccarelli, Paolo semeraro, Claudia Rossi, Martina Orsini, Enrico Zennaro, Elio Somaschini, Andrea Falcon, Alberto Mariotti, just to name a few, but there could be more surprises.
