We often find ourselves taking stock of what has been, of the new things we have just seen at the shows or on the docks. Today we are changing the game. We sat down at the editorial desk and tried to imagine, data and experience in hand, what might change in the boating world in the next twelve months. Thus was born a small vademecum in ten words: from A for Alliances to R for Reputation. After the first three installments (links can be found at the bottom of the article), today we are talking about Design.
DESIGN
If a yachtsman from the 1980s (but also from the late 1990s) had been on a desert island for the past few years, he would struggle to recognize the boating market. At all price levels, in fact, the concept of design has come into prominence. Any shape, as long as it is comfortable, paraphrasing Henry Ford (inventor of the automobile) and his fondness for the color black.
Habitability has become the fundamental factor with which all designers must contend as never before, whether it is a pure cruising boat or a cruiser with ambitions to make a good impression in racing. The desire for elegance, in addition, reigns. Like it or not, this could be the year of roll bars becoming popular on models you would never expect.
