It is Emirates Team New Zeland that is the first AC 75 to uncover its cards and get caught up in training. These are the first steps of the boats that will make the next America’s Cup, and, as was easy to imagine, it will take time for the crews to be able to sail stable and fast, on foils, and continuously.
From this short video posted by the Live Sail Die channel, we can see that the Kiwis always seek a “apprued” trim: the focus seems to be not to fly the boat too high, probably for stability and aerodynamic reasons, but to keep it just above the water. There is also a glimpse of a gybe entirely on foils.
