A Trentino company is a European leader in the distribution and installation of synthetic teak. It is called Synteak and is also the holder of several national exclusives, such as the product
The Biodegradable Cleaner
to clean the boat and as the world’s first composite teak. Among the many proposed solutions is synthetic teak that glows in the dark!

Synthetic teak manufactured for durability
The synthetic teak distributed by Synteak is called
PlasDECK
and is produced in Akron, in the heart of Ohio. The city,” home to a major tire company, is known as the “rubber capital of the world,” and also of plastic polymer. In its different variations, PlasDECK retains all its qualities that make it the ideal product for blanket covering. It has optimal grip in both dry and wet conditions, does not require much maintenance, cleans easily and is extremely less susceptible to UV radiation, basically heating up less. All these qualities differentiate it not only from natural teak, but also from other synthetic teaks on the market.
In the dark the escapes light up!
One invention that won the Miami Innovation Award for innovation and safety on board is the PlasDECK Glow Series. By day, this synthetic teak has a look quite the same as its brother PlasDECK Classic, so it is very similar to natural teak. During the day, clear joints become charged by absorbing sunlight, and when evening falls they release an elegant blue light.“Glow in the dark” joints can also be made only at strategic points on the boat, such as steps or walkways, to improve visibility in dangerous areas.
