Swan Experience: from regattas to boats on display, here’s how it went

Entire Swan fleet moored at Scarlino Marina

The first “Swan Experience,” or “reunion” of the entire Swan world, from the One Design models engaged in racing in Tuscan waters to the boats on display and the many services offered by the shipyard, was held at the Marina di Scarlino. In the event program an important space was occupied by the Swan One Design Worlds, the first world championships dedicated to one design classes (6 Club Swan 36, 15 Club Swan 50, 5 Swan 45 ), with about 26 boats from 10 nations.

The Marina di Scarlino race course offered its proverbial, technical conditions that exalted the international crews who came to Tuscany to compete in the regatta.

Marcus Brennecke’s German yacht Hatari (pictured above) is the new ClubSwan 50 World Champion. The one-design, a few years after its launch, is confirmed at this time to be one of the absolute strengths of the ClubSwan fleet, a boat that now has a solid and large fleet with a very high technical level.

The Swan 45 world championship was won by Lennard van Oeveren’s Motions of the Netherlands. The Swan 45 represents a “cult” boat in the Swan world. Marine, fast, solid, perfect for racing but adaptable for cruising as well, one of the yard’s most successful boats and still on the crest of a wave.

Cetilar-Vitamina was the winner among the ClubSwan 36, the latest monotype churned out by Swan under the signature of Juan K, who will have an ideal continuation of his philosophy with the upcoming Swan 80. The same boats also won the 2020 Nations League awards (calculated on the combination of Swan One Design Worlds and Tuscany Challenge).

SWAN EXPERIENCE, NOT JUST REGATTAS

The Scarlino event was not just a competitive event for the Finnish shipyard with Italian managment. In fact, at the tail end of the regattas was the first ever Swan Private Boat Show, where for the very first time ever the entire new Nautor’s range was on display (from 48 to 98), accompanied by a number of brokerage boats from 54 to 115′. “The Swan Experience here in Scarlino provided our first real opportunity to showcase all of these aspects and how they relate. This includes our craftsmanship, numerous elegant and innovative models and ranges, One Design racing, brokerage and charter services, and Global Customer Service,” explained Nautor’s Swan President Leonardo Ferragamo.
