The Swan One Design Worlds were held in Valencia, hosted by the Real Club NĂ¡utico, for a World Championship characterized by light winds in the final part of the Championship, stronger in the initial part. On the water were the ClubSwan 36, ClubSwan 42 and ClubSwan 50 fleets.
Club Swan 50 (16 boats)

Among the ClubSwan 50s, Cuordileone’s crew, helmed by Leonardo Ferragamo, made it to the final day with only a one-point lead over the pursuers, but held their position in the final rush. Leonardo Ferragamo, clearly happy, said, “Being World Champion is very exciting. We fought hard until the last minute. That’s why one-design racing is so incredible, with the boats so close until the end. This is my first World Championship and I am very happy.” Earlybird and Balthasar closed the podium for the 50′.
Club Swan 36 (9)

In the ClubSwan 36 fleet a penultimate race won by Lorenzo Mondo’s Farstar, and an equally excellent seventh place by class leader Mamao, saw the top four boats enter their final race separated by only one point with Farstar in pole. Haakon Lorentzen’s Mamao won the last race, with Farstar second; the two boats finished tied on points, but the best finish in the last race gave the Brazilian hull the edge in the standings. Cuordileone helmed by Edoardo Ferragamo took the final podium spot with Giangiacomo Serena’s G-Spot from Lapigio.
Club Swan 42 (9)

Spaniard Pedro Vaquer’s Nadir led the standings during the week and took home the title by a good margin. Massimo De Campo’s Selene-Alifax secured second place while another boat representing Spain at the regatta, Jose Maria Meseguer’s Pez De Abril, finished third.
