The Sun Fast 3300 is a much-anticipated boat, as the Sun Fasts, and especially with the 3200 and 3600, have always tickled the curiosity of performance boat enthusiasts and racing enthusiasts. So here she is, the latest, signed Guillame Verdier/ Daniel Andrieu, a boat that is already making deep-sea sailing enthusiasts dream because it is precisely for this use that she was conceived.

The new 3300 brings with it all some of the latest innovations seen in the world of ocean racing boats. Starting with the bow: powerful volumes, a bow that is very reminiscent of that seen for example in the Pogo 3 of the Mini 650s, or, with due differences, in the IMOCA 60 class. A functional bow to keep the boat from swamping when sailing in waves and strong winds at the stern. At the same time, the shape of the deckhouse is quite voluminous, not only to give more space inside, but also to give more protection to the cockpit from water rising on the deck when sailing in severe weather and thus provide more comfort when sailing.

The boat is quite wide, 3.40 m, to also go for that stability of form necessary for a design whose ultimate use is also double sailing, but the maximum beam is not fully set back at the stern, but more forward, to prevent a wider stern in light winds from offering excessive hydrodynamic drag. At the same time, the maximum beam not fully set back helps keep the cockpit a little more sheltered.

Speaking of this aspect, it is also noticeable that there are no edges, in short the boat will go strong in sustained breezes but even for light breezes the designers have thought of tricks not to penalize it and make it be fast.
The hull is geared to IRC regulation, the bulb provided as standard in fact does not have a torpedo, with this regulation in fact some of the most coveted offshore races, such as the Middle Sea Race, the Fastnet or the Sydney to Hobart, are contested. The sail plan includes a fully square-top mainsail, a low-overlap jib, and large asymmetrical mainsails. The deck plan is markedly sport oriented.
