Spartivento Charter, a state-of-the-art fleet
For years now a reference point for charters in Italy, Spartivento now has more than 80 sailboats and catamarans in its fleet, now recognizable along all Italian coasts and islands thanks to the now famous red and yellow “V” on the bow.
“For the summer of 2022 we are proposing,” says Stefano Pizzi, CEO of Spartivento Group, “in addition to our wide selection of monohulls from 30 to 51 feet from Beneteau and Jeanneau, as a novelty a wonderful Jeanneau 54 from 2022 that is available in the Aeolian Islands. As catamarans, which now number about 30 in the fleet, then also arrive 2 Bali that join the much more numerous Lagoon.
As for the bases, we are strengthening the two that we have been opening for a couple of seasons and that have attracted great interest, namely Sardinia and Tuscany. The former is a new destination for us, but it is already doing well, while the latter realizes good numbers because it is very convenient for those who travel from big cities by car.”
Speaking of numbers, how are reservations going for the summer? “It’s another strange year, this time because of the war, which has caused us to lose many bookings from the Russian and Ukrainian markets and intimidates those from outside Europe. There is, however, a steady flow of bookings, with fewer peaks, so that there is still some availability even for the very high season in August, which last year at this time was nearly sold out.
And then it is true that the market is expanding to tourists who are new to boating and sailing: on the one hand also because they want to invest in the industry with purchase or management boat programs, and on the other hand because it has become a popular vacation format, which has almost ‘lost’ the strong connection with boating and has become more like a lifestyle experience to be had at least once in a lifetime.”

As always Aeolian Islands, and also precisely Sardinia and Tuscany, but I emphasize that there is a boom in requests for catamarans in the Egadi Islands, a destination that is difficult to manage, however, because of the nature reserve. There, too, as in all our other destinations however we provide the customer with comprehensive and tailor-made assistance, starting with the organization of the vacation and continuing with the explanation of the boat and the service, not forgetting advice on itineraries for those sailing without a skipper.”
Can we give an idea of the rates for the summer? “Prices are always attractive and there is no shortage of promotions: such as the current one going on for cruises throughout June, which can be found on our website. Other examples: in Sicily a monohull with 5 cabins in low season starts from 3,490 euros per week, while a catamaran with 4 cabins from 4,490 euros per week.”
