When we tested the Saffier 37 we called it a sailing Lamborghini (read the test HERE ), now the Dutch shipyard has repeated itself, bringing the concept of its big sister back to a 27-footer and adding some new features.
The Saffier 27 SE is one of the world premieres from Boot Dusseldorf, and we were on board to find out its features and photograph some details. The most notable novelty is one: it is a fully electric-powered boat, nameplate Torqueedo, with a 4.0 Kw propulsion and a motor-only range that will vary from 5 to 8 hours depending on the regimes of use (cruising speed or low speed), a reasonable time for a boat designed for day sailing and that will be capable of significant sailing performance.
A conviction that stems from the boat’s displacement/sail area ratio: just 1.9 tons in weight, of which 900 kg are in the keel, with 39 sq. m. of sail area with a self-tacking jib, which becomes 42 with the low-overlap one, to which another 66 sq. m. of gennaker or 51 sq. m. of Code Zero must be added. Important numbers, which will work on a hull with lean, thin exits that herald absolute fun even in the wind burrs, as already demonstrated by its big sister. The price of this little gem? The standard version starts at 74,500 euros, with Torqueed motorization included; it is certainly not in the low price range, but we are talking about a shipyard that makes a product with quality craftsmanship and great attention to detail.
Length. 8,2 m
Width 2.60 m
Immersion 1.4-1.6 m
Displacement 1,900 kg
