The anchor is the guardian of our boats, the one who will let us sleep sound dreams on a cruise, a faithful ally of anyone who goes to sea. In order for this valuable tool to work at its best, however, certain common sense rules and a series of technical operations must be followed in order to put the anchor in a condition to work properly. In fact, we can speak of a real anchoring technique, with precise procedures and evaluations, that will enable us to give bottom effectively and maintain the chosen position for a long time. Before that, we need to choose the anchor best suited to our needs and the characteristics of the boat it will be working on, equip it with a certain amount of chain, and remember to always keep a spare one on board in case of loss of the main anchor or severe bad weather.
