Saverio Cecchi is the new president of Ucina

With 99 percent of the vote, Saverio Cecchi was elected as the new president of Ucina Confindustria Nautica, the recreational boating association that has institutional representation of the boating industry, for the four-year period 2019-2023.
Saverio Cecchi sits on the board of directors of GP Yachts srl. Part of Ucina’s Board of Directors since 1990, Cecchi has served as sector president, vice president and, since 2013, president of Ucina’s probationers. President of BCS srl first and managing director of Twin Disc Italy from 2006 to 2012.
His goals as president
The goals are very clear:
- Implementation of the Boating Code,
- Italy’s adoption of the Passenger Code for superyachts
- Promotion of small-scale boating, including through specific projects for Sea Day (April 11)
- Training and expansion of internationalization support activities
- Business support and promotion of Made in Italy and boating at Expo Dubai 2020
- development of nautical leasing
The new leadership of Ucina
The Shareholders’ Meeting appointed Maurizio Balducci (Overmarine spa), Piero Formenti (ZAR Formenti srl), Alessandro Gianneschi (Gianneschi Pumps and Blowers srl) and Andrea Razeto (F.lli Razeto&Casareto spa) as vice presidents.
UCINA’s General Council will be completed by two members directly appointed by the president: Massimo Donà (In.co.fin. srl) and Alberto Osculati (Osculati srl).
The Assembly also appointed Anton Francesco Albertoni as chairman of the Board of Arbitrators.
Saverio Cecchi takes over from Carla Demaria, who reached the natural end of her term after four years at the helm of the Association, from 2015 to 2019.
