Sailing Sicily, 7 charter bases throughout Italy
Guido D’Aleo, COO of Sailing Sicily-a company founded in Palermo in 2003 and quickly becoming a leading player in the Italian boating vacation sector-tells what’s new for next summer’s boating vacations: “Apart from the classic charter product we have always offered, we were the first in Italy to launch the new “Zero Deposit” formula this year.
It is an innovative solution that allows the tourist, through the payment of a small fee, not to leave a security deposit or credit card as collateral for the rental. The way it works is simple: if on return there is no problem with the boat, we make that fee paid in the form of a voucher to spend on a subsequent vacation.”
How are bookings going so far for the upcoming summer? “Compared to the past years marked by the pandemic, we have a more consistent booking trend but we are not yet at the levels of 2019: but looking ahead the situation looks rosy, with numbers always growing and finally there is also the foreign market that is picking up again.
But I am sure that for the medium-term future, the charter sector will benefit from this rediscovery of the Italian market, because finally the Italian tourist has also added to his options the boat charter vacation, a solution that has low cost and lots of yield.
Moreover, Sailing Sicily today is able to offer as many as 7 charter bases throughout Italy, including Sicily, Sardinia, Tuscany and Campania. Not forgetting either the new base in Ravenna, a perfect starting point for cruising to magnificent Croatia, its islands and beaches.”
Sailing Sicily
– Timely assistance to all clients
What kind of assistance do you provide before, during and after for the vacation? “We offer timely assistance that we provide to the customer through in-house staff trained by us and available h24. There is always someone ready to respond to requests, even giving instructions, but we can intervene directly on the spot.”
Can you give an idea of the rates for next summer? “We offer a truly remarkable range of rates, starting from smaller boats in the low season to luxury boats for the high season. New models, although we work with older boats as well, for which we give full refitting and quality control guarantees so that we never give customers any nasty surprises.
Prices? They start from 2,000 euros for a monohull in low season to 15,000 euros for a sailing catamaran in high season, while 65-foot motor catamarans start from 35,000 euros per week.”
