Sailmakers always say it, “Don’t use sails beyond their maximum range, or there’s trouble.”
Especially when deviating from good old Dacron. So what can happen when the wind beats up in earnest and you’re hauling full sail, with the racing game exaggerated? Vukičević, depicting the mishap that happened to an RC 44 during da Viska Regatta, a popular event with a route from Split to Vis (Lissa in Italian). Someone on Facebook joked by speculating about the invention of “a brand new, ultra-fast system to reduce canvas.”
