batteryTALMON MILITARY BATTERY
North Sardinia
Clinging to the rugged rocks of Sardinia, hidden among an unspoiled and wild nature, the Talmone Military Battery constitutes an important testimony to the military history of our country and for this reason it has become part of the protected property of the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano).
It is part of a defensive system consisting of some fifty forts, blockhouses and military batteries, built on the north coast of the island in the second half of the 1700s. Among all the fortifications built, the Talmone Military Battery had the task of keeping the channel located between the island of Spargi and Sardinia under fire. After decades of neglect, in 2002 the Talmone Military Battery was given in concession by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia to the FAI, which, thanks to a careful and demanding restoration work still in progress, guarantees its opening to the public with the support of the Municipality of Palau.

North Sardinia
A beautiful anchorage: crystal-clear waters and clear sandy bottom. Located on the S coast of the island, it offers good shelter from winds between W and N. A long sandy beach hems the NO side of the bay, behind which a few villas can be seen. The fine sandy beach, one of the most beautiful in the entire archipelago, is surrounded by very scenic rocks. Watch out for the shallows at the entrance.

Maddalena Island, North Sardinia
A Maddalena bar open from 9 a.m. to midnight, which has gained a reputation not only for its “feet in the water” terrace and breathtaking views, but also for the affordable dishes and prices it offers, becoming a landmark on the island, a viable alternative to expensive local restaurants.
Chef’s pride creative bruschetta, octopus and potatoes, lobster salad, stuffed squid, eggplant parmigiana, Sardinian pecorino are menu choices to recommend. All washed down with Sardinian Vermentino. Tel. 3939504487

cove_piraCALA PIRA
South Sardinia
How difficult to choose a bay along the southern coast of Sardinia! Our choice fell on this small and beautiful, half-unknown cove, located south of Punta Is Cappuccinus. You will recognize it, approaching from the south, by the presence of a tower on the promontory that closes the bay to the east. Anchoring is safe due to the sandy bottom good tenor with 5-8 meters depth. Beware, however, because it is open to winds from the south and east.

000000003SUNSET AT CAPE SANDALWOOD
Carloforte, South Sardinia
Whether you are happily in a couple, with friends, or even alone, here is one of the must-see appointments if you are in Carloforte. The lighthouse, built in 1864, dominates the west coast of the island and offers a breathtaking view. Cape Sandalwood presents itself as a succession of small rocky creeks, cliffs and sheer cliffs extremely inaccessible and dangerous. Going down to the creeks, in some cases is quite difficult and dangerous, in others really impossible…. But not in a boat!
