Operation Lighthouses, state property retorts: another call for bids soon

We recently told you about Operation Valore Paese-Fari, curated by the Agenzia del Demanio: eleven lighthouses located in unique positions along the Italian coasts (find out which ones they are here) have entered a call for bids that allows private parties to obtain them in concession for fifty years.
A SUCCESSFUL “PRIVATIZATION”
The initiative appears to have been a success, and the agency gave some numbers: 6 million euro investment to upgrade the facilities and adapt them to their new vocation as hostels or luxury hotels; a total economic impact of about 20 million euros and a direct employment impact of more than 100 workers; more than 330 thousand euros in annual fees, which, in view of the different duration of the concessions, will total about 6.8 million euros for the entire concession period. In addition, the state will save about 210,000 euros annually in ordinary management, to which will be added the extraordinary safety and protection interventions estimated at about 400,000 euros on average per lighthouse.
NEW CALL FOR 20 MORE LIGHTHOUSES SOON
Given the success of the operation (the entrustment of the lighthouses will be concluded in the coming weeks), by the summer the State Property Agency will replicate by launching a new tender. This time on the plate will be 20 lighthouses, towers and coastal buildings. At particularly attractive rents. why not give it some thought if you are planning to launch into the industry?
