Rest assured, we will hear about this boat for a long time in the coming years. It is a bolide designed to excel in IRC and designed by the studio of the eclectic Marc Lombard. The young transalpine shipyard Ofcet (which took its boats to victory in both the Proto and Series categories at the last Mini Transat) focused on solid, lightweight construction and lines characterized by an inverted bow and a generous bow section. The lines of the boat, without hiding, wink at ocean hulls developed for big races around the world. One of the goals of the Ofcet 32 is participation in the Transquadra, a transatlantic regatta for crews over 40 in doubles, which puts it in direct competition with hulls such as the Sun Fast 3200 and 3600, or the Pogo 36.
The brainchild of Yann Dubè (the main shareholder and director) with the collaboration of Marc Lombard’s studio the Ofcet 32 can be customized on both appendages and sail plan to optimize ratings and adapt them to different types of regattas. The shipyard also plans a cruise version, which is very simple but cozy and performs well. The hull is layered in infusion. Below deck the watchword is versatility, and depending on the use – racing or touring – berths, tables and furniture can be easily adapted. The deckhouse is “etched” by two windows for better views to the outdoors. The site program also includes a new Ofcet of about 40′ soon.
