Easy and safe, Nautica 450 is a dinghy featuring easy rigging and a wide cockpit that makes the boat stable and easy to control. It is a fast, safe and versatile drift designed to deliver excitement and pure fun.
The boat offers a choice of two different types of rigging: on the one hand, a more racer version with an enlarged mast, larger mainsail, masthead-rigged gennaker and two orders of spreaders dedicated to more experienced sailors; on the other hand, a Fun version, for lighter or novice crews, with a smaller sail area and fractional gennaker and only one order of spreaders to simplify the boat’s handling as much as possible.
Featuring a modern sail plan (North Sails) with top square mainsail, low overlap jib and gennaker on removable bowsprit, the Nautica 450 has performance hull lines, trapeze for the bowman and multiple adjustments including: the GNAV, jib trolleys and diamond shrouds adjustable by hoist (in the race version).
The large maximum beam (1.92 meters) ensures high form stability, and the transom is open and self-emptying for maximum safety, parallel to the large and ergonomic cockpit. In terms of construction, the Nautica 450 is made of vinylester resin, biaxial fiberglass, and sandwich. As we have already seen, this dinghy is absolutely versatile, and in addition to being available in two versions, it allows single, double, or three-person crew sailing. At the VELAFestival in Santa Margherita (May 4-7, 2017) you will find the Nautica 450 waiting for you at the Beach Village for sea trials.
