Nauta Design is a name that certainly needs no introduction now. The Milan-based design firm signs designs for the world’s leading shipyards, handling deck design and especially interior design. We are talking about an Italian reality that has now become a real cult worldwide, as demonstrated by the projects we are about to present to you.
In fact, in recent months Nauta Design has been engaged in the design of three sailing superyachts, in collaboration with the Southern Wind shipyard and design firms Reichel-Pugh and Farr Yacht Design.
REICHEL/PUGH-NAUTA 100′
This custom design was created for an owner who is an experienced yachtsman and wanted a performance-oriented yacht to compete in the most prestigious international regattas while also offering an excellent on-board lifestyle. The design choice was to combine a modern, aggressive look with the safety and comfort of a truly intriguing performance cruiser.
SOUTHERN WIND 105GT
With Farr Yacht Design and Nauta Design naval architecture for the exterior and interior, Southern Wind’s 105 GT is the latest result of the long and successful collaboration between Nauta Design, Farr Y.D. and the South African shipyard. The Nauta-SWS collaboration has been ongoing for twenty years and has produced over forty yachts ranging from 78′ to 110′.
The SW105GT will be launched in spring 2021 and features a completely new deck design that is as innovative as it is modern. Its lines are reminiscent of Gran Turismo racing cars, designed for high performance over long distances, just like this yacht. Hence the name of the project: SW105GT.
REICHEL/PUGH-NAUTA 151′
Featuring Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design naval architecture and Nauta Design’s overall concept, this 151-footer is currently under construction at Royal Huisman and is Nauta’s first collaboration with the famous Dutch shipyard. Designed to explore the world while offering the owner and guests the highest quality and most comfortable living, featuring a very lightweight construction to be competitive in international racing, this 46-meter sloop cruiser-racer is built of aluminum and carbon fiber and features all the latest technologies, including a Panamax carbon fiber mast built by Rondal.
