Najad 395 AC with aft cockpit

The choice to name an archistar as Bruce Farr to design its new twelve-footer is certainly part of the Swedish shipyard’s revitalization project Najad after the transition to new ownership, which has taken it by the hand to bring back a brand that has historically been the symbol of high-quality boats.

Najad 395 CC with central cockpit

The Swedish shipyard Najad then unveiled drawings of the new 395, a yacht at the 12-meter limit designed by Farr Yacht Design and Ken Freivokh Design for styling and interiors.
The boat will be available in AC versions with aft cockpit and CC with center cockpit
. The 395, in both deck configurations, will be 11.98 long and 3.95 wide with a draft of 1.99 meters and a displacement of 11,000 kg. The models, described by the shipyard as “two mini superyachts,” will be launched later this year, and the first four units have already been sold. For the shipyard, they represent a major evolution in design and performance, while construction will remain, as always, one of the 395’s strengths. The lines are typical of boats that sail the northern seas: a cockpit contained in size in order to have a very wide crown, a detail much appreciated by Scandinavian boaters, and a fixed windshield characteristic of Najads. The hull is deep and the boat will have a medium displacement, all with a sleek, modern aesthetic that promises to make this boat a great classic.

The sail plan includes a genoa at 105% overlap and a mast with batten or furling mainsail. The rudder blade is unique. In the aft cockpit version, you can have twin rudder wheels, while in the center cockpit version, there is a single center wheel.

The central cockpit version will have two layouts with two or three cabins with one or two bathrooms. The hull is made of fiberglass sandwich and Divinycell resin core and vinylester resin infusion, and the engine is a 57-horsepower Yanmar with sail drive transmission. It is scheduled for launch in the fall of 2017 and will be priced at 363,260 euros.
