In the end, the international jury, meeting at the Yacht Racing Forum in Geneva, chose: from the 20 finalist photos, the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image of the Year 2015 award (the most important international award for photography dedicated to sport sailing) went to the Greek Nikos Zagas, who captured a sailing moment on the 49er in an original and dynamic way. As for the audience award (i.e., to the person who received the most online votes, the win went to Rick Tomlinson, one of the official photographers of the Volvo Ocean Race, with this shot of Team Brunel during the dubbing of Cape Horn, an image that communicates all the “power” of sailing:
