The sailing portion of the Miami Boat Show is located just behind Biscayne Boulevard. A sector that, year after year, has been able to grow within a historically engine-focused show. And there is a trend within the trend to record: out of 74 boats on display, 41 are multihulls, more than half, confirming the new blood moving the industry. We want to introduce you to ten multihull models that you are unlikely to see in Europe and that will be on the dock in Miami.
The new Balance 526 catamaran, built by South African shipyards Nexus Yachts, will be launched at the Miami Boat Show. Priority is given to water lines, seaworthiness and performance, but luxury and comfort are not lacking. Clean lines that do not add volume below deck but provide better seaworthiness, lightweight materials so as not to weigh down the deck, dual wheelhouses, one on the top and one on the bottom protected by the hard top. The design is the result of the experience of designer Phillip Berman, naval architect Anton Du Toit, and feedback from the hundreds of people who sail the catamarans built by the Multihull Company, parent company of Nexus Shipyards. balancecatamarans.com.

A 58-foot luxury catamaran designed and built in Poland by Wave Catamarans. The cat knows how to be an excellent candidate for cruising in the Mediterranean: witness the extensive outdoor areas and a design that brings together the space and comfort, typical of multihulls, with the characteristics of monohulls: the ability to sail upwind. The Wave 58, moreover, while it cannot boast of large size, in its interior manages to prioritize the privacy of guests: four cabins (and a sailors’ room) arranged in such a way as to make the accommodations independent and “remote.” A gift that could make this multi-pole suitable not only for family cruises with friends, but also for possible use in charter. www.wavecatamarans.com
