Attractive lines, mahogany hull, carbon appendages and rig (T-bulb is lead and carbon fiber fin, rudder is carbon fiber with wood core). The LA28 is a Dutch daysailer designed by Martin Menzner.
A feast for the eyes: a well-executed mix of curved lines with a classic flavor and hypermodern equipment and appendages. Mahogany and carbon meet and complement each other: the hull and deck are made of mahogany laminated wood, while the interior structure is cedar.
The rigging is completed by a square top mainsail, two quartered spreaders and a self-tacking jib. The deck gear is all Harken, and a retractable bowsprit can be found in the bow where to rig either a 40 sq. m. Code 0 or a 75 sq. m. gennaker.
A 2.5-kw electric model powered by two 180 Ah batteries is provided for motor navigation. Internally, two bunks, a lounge and a bathroom are provided. The only drawback? The price that is around 90,000 euros.
