On the one hand the demands of the owner, on the other hand the need for both aesthetic and functional proposals for a functionally sustainable project. This is the challenge facing yacht designers today in a difficult search for a “new” that is not homologation of the different at all costs.
A challenge that for Team For Design and its founder Enrico Gobbi must take into account both constant technical insight and the utmost respect for maritime culture.
Two aspects that also underlie the heritage Sergio Cutolo has poured into his design firm Hydrotec, which is celebrating 20 years of activity in which he has moved from the field of marine engineering to what is called “holistic design.”
A ‘global approach that is also declined in the new Monte Carlo Yachts 105, signed by Studio Nuvolari-Lenard, and which inaugurates a new route for the shipyard led by Fabrizio Iarrera. With Onika, the new 40-meter yacht from Delta Marine, and Perseus Ì‚3, the 60-meter sloop from Perini Navi, the horizons are broadening to the world that the owners of these two yachts have in their plans.
And long sailings are also what, from the very first edges, Lady G., third Southern Wind 94 from the many new in its move to Europe from Cape Town where the shipyard founded by Willy Persico is based. With Project Kometa, Heesen Yachts’ 70-meter, Custom Line’s Navetta 37, and with Euphoria, Sirnew and Sirena Marine’s fleet, the search for novelty, always with the tiller at the center on sustainable design, continues by passing through different sizes and worlds.
As from the car to the first boat bearing the Aston Martin brand, the British automaker has moved on, following what design director Marek Reichman, considers an evolution of the same quest for beauty not an end in itself. The same one proposed by the Unique Hotel in São Paulo, Brazil, with its profile, which, it could not be otherwise for Top Yacht Design, brings to mind that of a large ship.
