BECOMING SAILORS TOGETHER WITH MATTEO MICELI
Are you ready to dive into a four-day, four-night full-immersion in offshore sailing with an exceptional teacher, the great sailor Matteo Miceli? You read that right, the very skipper who nearly completed a nonstop solo round-the-world voyage on a Class 40 (the boat on which the course will be held) and who, with Biondina Nera, a 20-foot non-habitable catamaran he built, made the Atlantic crossing, setting a world record. He didn’t just do this, but let him tell you all about it when you meet him in person!
DATES, LOCATION, GOALS AND PRICE
The next course with Miceli will be held from March 29 to April 2: not a walk at sea, because whatever the weather, you will set sail and stay at sea for 4 days and 4 nights in the central Tyrrhenian Sea, starting from Riva di Traiano. You will be able to acquire the skills needed to navigate safely both day and night, to maintain and prepare the boat, to deal with bad weather and to handle the unexpected, emergencies and breakdowns most frequently encountered at sea; you will be able to hone techniques for proper sail trimming and for mooring and unmooring in challenging conditions. We will learn about polyphasic sleep management for small crew navigation, meteorology, electronics, and more. In short, in just a few days, if you follow Matteo’s advice, you can become a real sailor. The cost of the course for the dates indicated is 1,200 euros.
