Participating in some way in the son’s, husband’s, wife’s regatta is routine in the Scheidt household. If mom Gintare (1 silver medal in Beijing) participates in a Laser regatta (albeit a zonal one) the whole family is present: if not on the water, at the awards ceremony, with the very champion Robert (preparing for his seventh Olympics after winning 2 golds, 2 silvers and a bronze) intent on taking photos of his wife on the podium and the children celebrating together.
This time it was little Erik racing at the Ora Cup Ora Optimist in Arco., with teammates from Circolo Vela Torbole, and at the end of the last race (out of three days of racing), the full Scheidt family showed up at the finish line to greet him, sailing, of course. Full family including little dog Jibe, making his boat debut.
Robert in the Laser, mom Gintare with her youngest son along with other children and a friend on the Laser Bahia, as well as the dog, armed with a life jacket strictly yellow like Robert and Erik’s hats, for the first time in the boat to welcome Erik with much celebration upon his arrival! A wonder to see such natural and joyful participation in the family, where sailing is truly at home for everyone!
