After the success of the Jova Beach Parties, Lorenzo Cherubini, aka Jovanotti, is turning to sailing. And it will certainly not be a comfortable cruise: the popular singer will be aboard Giovanni Soldini’s maxi trimaran Multi 70 Maserati as a grinder in the Hong Kong to Vietnam Race starting on Oct. 16.
The two are good friends and have already sailed together on vacation. Jovanotti, born in 1966 like Soldini, is not on his first experience aboard Maserati: he had already participated in a transfer from Italy to Spain in 2017.
The race is no joke; it is 673 miles starting from Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong and finishing in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Along with Soldini and the Jova, a respectable team is on board: Guido Broggi, a regular presence aboard the Milanese sailor’s trimaran and boats, will be the boat captain. The other grinder will be Furio Carboni, at the bow will be Oliver Herrera Perez, Nico Malingri (Vittorio’s son) while Giovanni’s nephew Matteo Soldini will be the tailer.
