Jeanneau has a new shot ready to fire for the coming season: it is a 51-footer, designed by Philippe Briand in the footsteps of the Jeanneau 54 launched in 2015 and will fit into the French shipyard’s high-end hulls. It will be a cruiser in its own right, featuring a large cockpit marked by comfort and a double wheelhouse aft, toward which all maneuvers will be deferred for ease of handling, even with a small crew.
54′ LEGACY
On the deckhouse, on either side of the entrance below deck, a solution already seen on the 54-footer and which has been very popular: two sunbathing spaces. Also inherited from the 54 is the aft swim platform.
It will not be tilting but“elevator-like“: that is, when sailing, it will be on the same level as the cockpit, while when stationary, at anchor, it will descend to form the classic bathing platform.
THREE LAYOUTS BELOW DECK
The keel will be cast iron, and the sail plan will include a slightly overlapping jib or self-tacking. Size-wise, nothing changes from the Sun Odyssey 51 (15.75 meters overall length by 4.69 maximum beam).
As for the interior, the owner can choose from different configurations: three double cabins and three bathrooms, two double cabins and a single, and two double cabins and two bathrooms. The boat will be presented at the upcoming fall boat shows. www.jeanneau.com/it-it/
