James Bond arrives in London–by sailboat. Spirit Yachts will exhibit its famous 54-footer, James Bond’s boat in the movie Casino Royale, at the London On-Water Yacht & Boat Show (May 4-7), at Saint Katherine Docks.
WHAT ELEGANCE IN CASINO ROYALE!
In the 2006 film, we see Agent 007, played by Daniel Craig, cross the Grand Canal in Venice aboard the splendid Spirit 54. Indeed, the British agent could only opt for an English boat, and what a boat. Elegant, traditional yet modern, with a teak deck and mahogany trim, she was built by the renowned Ypswich shipyards. The deckhouse has no stanchion, and the sail plan is decidedly modern. The interior is designed for purely owner use: two large cabins, dinette with mahogany table, and fully equipped galley. The boat (16, 7 m long and 3.4 m wide) has an estimated value of about $1 million.

THEN IT BECAME MORE “TAMARACK”
Later, in Skyfall, Bond had opted instead for a decidedly more “showy” boat. A ungo 56-meter yacht, launched in 2011, built by a Bodrum shipyard and truly state-of-the-art. This “behemoth” with its steel hull and eelgant mahogany interior, is capable of offering both good sailing performance, but also with dual motorization (2 x 440 hp Man + 1 x 280 hp Yanmar) and 2 generators (2 x 40 Kwa + 22.5 kVA Kohler) to be able to guarantee in addition to safety at sea also 24-hour air conditioning and always the freshest food as well as very fascinating light games. Equipped with every comfort, elegant but at the same time sober with some special details. A white grand piano sits in the living room, while the onyx bathrooms, filtering soft and inviting lights. 7 crew members take constant care of both the boat and its guests. It can accommodate a maximum of 12 people in 6 fabulous cabins including 2 masters with king-size double beds, 3 doubles and 1 twin. All cabins have their own bathroom and shower stall, individual air conditioning control, TV, DVD, music, electric toilets, hair dryer, fire extinguisher and smoke alarm.
