“When inside our team we asked ourselves what automotive comparison could be suitable for the new boat we are about to present, we thought of Aston Martins. A boat with a great style, which will be able to express the performance typical of this shipyard but without being too “aggressive” or hyper modern, maintaining the charm of the brand while having some absolute novelties.” Maurizio Cossutti of Cossutti Yacht Design presented the Italia Yachts 14.98, which will be launched in the summer of 2020, this way at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
“Maintaining a balance between boat performance, innovations, style, and an increase in brand positioning is not an easy task, it’s a complex equation, but that’s what we’re doing with the launch of this new boat,” Italia Yachts CEO Francesco Pisciotta recounted .
The Italian shipyard, after the success (with winning an ORC World Championship) of the 11.98, is launching a new, if you will, even more ambitious boat that aims to be a synthesis of Italia Yachts’ experience from its inception to the present: “The 14.98 represents the synthesis of everything that has been done, in our opinion it is the essence of all the concepts we wanted to invest in, on the importance of the brand and the evolution of our brand.” explained Daniele De Tullio, sales manager for the shipyard, which has an ever-increasing eye on product evolution. “A boat that will not deviate from what is our DNA, so functionality, performance and elegance of the boat, style and quality of the interior, ” De Tullio points out.
“It wants to be a boat with a correct volume ratio.” Franco Corazza, founder of the shipyard, explained., “we will repeat the Fuoriserie and Bellissima versions that we successfully tested on the 11.98, the former for sportsmen but without losing comfort, and the latter that will wink especially for the interior also to the world of luxury.”
The new boat will repurpose some elements of the bluewater line that marked the early part of the shipyard’s history, with elements instead coming from the two sportier models (the 998 and the 11.98). All to bring to the market, with a new and more complete product, what has always been the shipyard’s idea of comfort: namely, that comfort is not only in volume, but in sailing well and being able to do with efficiency and precision all those things that are done aboard a sailboat.
