ISAF (the International Sailing Federation) has released the list of nominees (five male and five female) for the ISAF Rolex Sailor of the Year award, veritable “Oscars of world sailing” awarded based on the votes of a panel of judges who took into account sporting achievements between September 2014 and August 2015. Do you agree with the jury’s choices (which will reveal the names of the winners at the awards ceremony on November 10 in Sanya, China)? Which sailors do you think are missing from the roll call?
THE MEN.
Peter Burling & Blair Tuke (NZL ) – 49er phenomena, have won 20 regattas in a row including the Olympic test event in Rio, the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Hyeres, Weymouth and Portland, and the Princesa Sofia Trophy. They are also two cornerstones on Emirates New Zealand in the America’s Cup. Burling also won the 2015 Moth World Championship.
Loick P eyron (FRA ) – Foxy Loick Peyron managed to win the Route du Rhum (complete with a record, 7 days, 15 hours, 8 minutes and 32 seconds). After 32 years of trying. Moreover, replacing at the last Armel Le Cleac’h injured on Banque Populaire VII.
Giles Scott (GBR) – Finn ace, overshadowed by compatriot Ben Ainslie, Scott is undefeated on the Olympic drift since 2013. He is in the America’s Cup with the BAR team.

WOMEN.
