New 2019 rates of the much-reviled tourist tax for pleasure boats mooring in Croatia are coming
. The most noticeable change is that a new band has been established for boats transiting up to 3 days, whereas before whatever the period of stationing was, one had to pay the tourist tax for 8 days.

An obvious attempt to stem the flight of weekend boaters: following the exponential tax increase last summer, the Upper Adriatic had seen a shortage of boats in Croatia and overcrowding on the Slovenian coast.

Compared to last year’s prices, rates for boats of 9 meters and up have decreased, even substantially, especially on the larger sizes: smaller boats, from 5 to 9 meters, have been somewhat penalized
