A packed Italian Absolute Offshore Sailing Championship in Palermo, with 67 boats at the start in the event organized by the 6 associations of the Circoli Velici Riuniti Palermo consortium (Club Canottieri Roggero di Lauria, Circolo della Vela Sicilia, Società Canottieri Palermo, Centro Velico Siciliano, LNI Palermo and Yacht Club Mediterraneo). Let’s see category by category, who won the tricolor title.
CLASSES 0-1-2 REGATTA (R)
Italian Deep Sea Sailing 2016 champion is Renzo Grottesi’s Swan 42 Bewild (CV Portocivitanova), with Sandro Montefusco at the helm.
CLASS 0 CRUISE (C)
The Italian champion is Ars Una, Mylius 15E25 of Biscarini-Rocchi (Granlasco), with Roberto Spata aboard.
CLASS 1 C
The title goes to Maurizio Pavesi’s X41 Le Coq Hardi (CRV Italy) helmed by Aurelio Dalla Vecchia.
CLASS 2 C
Victory for Due R nel Vento, First 40 of Roberto Reccanello (Portodimare).
CLASSES 3-4 R
Italian champion 2016 is Lauria, Italia Yachts 9.98 owned by Marco Balicco (CCR Lauria) with Gabriele Bruni.
CLASS 3 C
Sagola Biotrading, Peppe Fornich’s Grand Soleil 37 (YC Favignana) also takes home the Italian title.
CLASSES 4-5 C
Carburex Globulo Rosso, the Este 31 of Alessandro Burzi (YC Gaeta) crowns an unforgettable season with the tricolor title.
