A few days ago we broke the news of a pirate attack in the Caribbean Sea on sailors. Aboard one of the two boats assaulted off Trinidad was Italian Roberto Dessena, skipper on an 80-foot carbon custom by German Frers, who vented on Facebook, managing to describe the situation he experienced (terrible, we imagine) with a truly witty irony. Then again, Dessena himself told us, “irony cannot be stolen fortunately, at the limit it can slumber for a while … but then it comes back.”
FORGET JOHNNY DEPP
“It really breaks my heart to disappoint all those people, children and otherwise, who associate Pirates of the Caribbean with Johnny Depp, with that charming image of handsome and bastard, of pirate and gentleman as Julio Iglesias used to say.
Certainly Johnny Depp was not among those five who boarded us off Trinidad last Sunday. Not beautiful for sure, maybe bastards are. And unfortunately, he didn’t look one bit like Keira Knightley the one who along with three others came on board and pointed a machine gun at us while the other two ransacked the boat carrying off everything they could, using our oilskins as sacks.
Itall lasted much less than a movie, let’s say half an hour however like every other Disney movie the ending is happy and so here we are saying goodbye from Grenada! ”
